Which bank do you prefer? Emigrant, ING, or some other bank?
I love the interface of ING's website soooo much more than Emigrant's, but Emigrant's higher interest rate makes it the overall winner in my mind. |

I've had ING for more than 3-4 months now and just opened Emigrant although I haven't that latter one yet. ING has been great for me but I would like to see how the 1/2% more can affect my account.

I have had an ING account for a few years. I had an Emigrant-Direct account for about 6 months and then closed it. I also have a GMAC Bank savings account. Never had a problem with the ING account.

i much prefer ING. even though they pay less interest, the convinience and peace of mind that i can pick up the phone and talk to someone within 1 minute (as opposed to 20 minutes with emigrant) is what has me keeping most of my money there. i do still have my emigrant account as well though because of the high rates. if you're gonna be keeping $10k plus, then i highly recommend you get their 1.4% cash back debit card!

I got on with HSBC also when their rate went up to 4.8% and ING was still 3.6%. They are pretty easy to work with so far and take security very seriously with the online savings accounts. The rate is only until the end of April, but I think they'll probably still keep it high.

I have both ING and Emigrant accounts. I prefer Emigrant just because of the higher interest rates, but I have no real complaints about ING...
