Does anyone know much about real estate in Maine?I moved here 2 years ago and would love to buy a nice piece of property but don't know much about how to go about it.Do you think it would be a good investment or just something I can use now and maybe sell and break even later down the road?Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Well I am no expert in real estate, but IMO real estate is NEVER a bad investment. My mom owns 70+ acres in Maine and it has proved to be very profitable. Also Maine is good because of low property taxes.

Buying land is a great investment. You can sell it later for almost double what you paid.

Go to www.realtors.com and see what land and homes are going for in the area you are interested in.

My sister just bought in Maine two years ago. It is a summer place for her but she loves it and paid a lot less than in MA. Also, my husbands ex-boss bought a place in ME five years before he retired. He rented it out for those five years and at the end of that he was able to buy another home and still keep the other one out to rent.
