Hi,
Im looking at investign long term into domain names. I know certain market TLD's like .com .net etc have had most of the best names to choose from.
Im just looking for people whom have done this before and still do it to see if the return of it is worthwhile after the costs of always re registering the domain name?
I myself own a few domains with few meanign 6-8 and currently point some to a few parkign sites which makes a bit of money but the return of it wouldnt cover my costs of registering it?
Any one got any idea's and/or tips for me? |

| DomainSponsor.com if you have them here you will make money off of them if they have traffic going to them. You can make steady money in this buissness its a good way of making moneybwithout doing alot of work, but its slow. The best site to get domains is Namepros.com, buy them cheap, they have there own money system on that site NP$ and they sometimes sell domains in that, just buy loads and park them. Make sure they are desirable domains. If you want any more info just ask me |

I don't know how to summarize it really, but I will give it a try. In the domain market, shorter is better most of the time, but don't abbreviate, because that will cause typos. Also, stick with .com for the most part. Sure, you can make money selling other domains, but if you are planning on developing a website, or selling it for a big profit, .com is the way to go. Also, I would never recommend going with a unknown TLD, such as .tz or something. Personally, I always stick with .com , .net , .us , and some .info and .org . I guess my last tip is to do your research. It takes quite some time to find a quality domain, so never "settle" on a worse domain just because you are tired of looking. If you look long enough, you will find the jackpot, which you can sell for a lot. Hope this helped,

Well, i must say this looks interesting. I must give it a go some time. I would be worried of buying a worthless domain though. I guess you just have to do your homework |

IMO you don't need money to start off. People with a lot to start off often waste it. Start with almost nothing and then you will learn quicker as you don't want to lose the little you have. |

That is one option if you are planning on developing the domain into a website. However, a lot of people in the domain business never actually make a website, and they resell the domain to someone who wants to make a website.

| Usually referred to as Cybersquatters, but thats a bit of a derogatory term. They are prospectors I feel...if the land if for sale and you like the location why not buy? |
