Hey guys,
Im new to the site, and was just reading through some of the forums and had a question. I have a fidelity IRA, it is a Roth because im in a decently low tax bracket right now. The funds I put into fidelity are automatically managed I beleive into their freedom fund. There is a small portion that goes to bonds etc. I guess my question is if anyone has any other advice? I logged on yesterday to check things out and they are down over 30% so far this year and I have put 5 grand in there this year. I have a 401k and I also try and save quite a bit (as much as I can, I am still in college and living at home...so i dont really have any bills other than school). It seems i do better investing on my own though without the stock market (hence why I am on here attempting to learn!). But I am averaging a steady 5% in my savings with just moving it around between like ING and some other high yeild savings accounts. Any advice? |

| Don't back out now, if your down that much you might as well wait. Putting in 5k a year should give you a nice bit of shares this year. Just remember the market is on sale right now. Just wait a few years for it to recover and you'll be fine. If you panic and get out now you will regret it when this market recovers. Quit listening to the panic, a lot has to do with the upcoming election. |

| Thanks. I was not really planning on taking any out. It is just a little discouraging to try and save and then see it lose so much value when their are safer alternatives. |
