Hi everyone...I have stopped in every so often to read and what great information everyone has to offer. Thank you

I have opened up saving accounts with ING so I am very familar with the online banking. Every so often I hear about Emigrant. I am very curious if anyone has anything to say about this bank. I have opened an account for everyone in the family with ING so I am now interested in Emigrant for the better rate. I would like to open accounts for my teens without their having access to them as they do to their ING accounts. Thank you for any information anyone has to offer about Emigrant.

Welcome to the boards Rags! I have an account at Emigrant Direct and ING. I love ING even though the interest is 25 basis points lower. The interface of Emigrant Direct is rather shoddy and leaves much to be desired. The transfers seem to take a little bit longer as well.

The one thing I really like about ING Direct is that you can also see how much interest you are accumulating each day. Emigrant Direct just credits your account at the end of the month.
