mainly you will need level 2 quotes... that way you can take advantage of bid and ask spreads... as to software most of the online resources have decent setups. i use scottrade, though you will need a minimum of $25,000 and will have to set up a margin account. if interested, let me know and i can get you some free trades- if before the end of next month i can get you 7 free. so let me know.

Actually, I have Scottrade and I use level2quotes.com to see the bid & ask spreads. Tell me more about these Scottrade functions.

that is mainly what you need, the rest is just practice and study... i would pick up a book on day trading. personally i don't day trade- i only swing trade- rarely do i have the ability to do much in one day- so it wouldn't work for me.
