You may want to start by telling us what stocks you are holding and maybe why you decided to go with them.

One thing to understand is that - like in real life - the minute you buy something you're in the red. That's why there are commission expenses on investments that you make in the simulator. If you purchase 100 shares of stock at $10 a share, that's a $1,000 investment that costs you $1,010 after commissions. So right away you have a negative return. There is a commission on the sell side of the transaction also. |

It says they've made four trades, and their portfolio is roughly $1000. That's 4% right there in costs... so actually their stock has gone up some if they are only ~2% in the hole!
