Looking to buy a new car this summer. Just wondering if the SAABs are any good. The SUV they have looks good and with 300hp it should get you there fast.

I have never owned a Saab before. I currently drive a Cadillac and BMW ... love them both!

The poll would only allow me to choose one.

I had a CTS on loan when my Escalade was in the shop getting a recall taken care of. I liked it, but I can see where it might be too small.

For dependability go with the Toyota. The others are too expensive for service or not very reliable!

Its an old 850i. Had a sticker price of $87,500 back in '91 and I got it for $12,000. I love the car and the v12 has been flawless. It’s been my daily driver for a few years now. I drove a few 3-series cars and thought they were great... but too small of course. I am almost 6'4" and those small cars are tough on me.

If I was investing in an auto company... hell yeah! To drive, I don't know. Nothing in their lineup really excites me. I do all of my own maintenance so I'm not scared off by higher maintenance cars.... although I am scared of Mercedes from everything that I have heard about them in the last few years!

I had a BMW 325i convertible that got up to 140k miles without any major problems. The older BMWs have great reliability, and the body doesn't corrode unlike the Japanese cars of comparable age. I had an uncle who bought a new 330xi that gave him some problems, but he got a new one and thats been fine - he drives alot though. The last night I got to drive my friend's M5 - God bless the waitress who kept giving him free drinks - and that car is a blast to drive. Oh, the power. Very Happy

Right now my main car is a CLK, although if I have more than one passenger I use an E-series, as the back of the CLK is just too small to humanely put anyone over 5 back there. No real complaints about either, although the electric in the E was initially a little iffy - thats a 2002 model if I remember correctly.

BHPD, if you are looking at SUVs I would tell you to check out the BMW X5s... the two people I know with those both love them. I've heard the new Mercedes MLs are ok, although the older ones (again, 2002 I think) there were problems with the electric. Having driven both BMWs and Mercedes, I don't fall either way. They both make great cars and in the end it comes down to personal preference.

Personal advice: get a convertible. A fast one. Life is short. My mother always lectures me on practicality; if you want practicality buy a Toyota or Honda minivan. If you want something fun, get a 250+ hp convertible. I would say that nothing compares to putting the top down on a sunny 80 degree day and going wherever... it can even make the morning commute bareable. I'll be watching this thread to ward off Dave Rathbun, who will try to convince you that you should buy a Corvette. Laughing

This is going to be my wife's car. She has to haul around two kids most of the time. My aunt has a CLK by the way and a brand new E seires. The CLK has enough room in the back for someone about 3 foot tall. I going to buy a SUV Iam just not sure which way to go. The brands that are on the survey are the only ones I havent drove.

The wife and I both have Saturns. They've been extremely reliable and have great gas mileage. Not the flashiest things in the world but I love to save on gas money and upkeep. Not sure if a correlation can be drawn, but based on that I'd probably say go with a Toyota.
