Another online bank where you can open an account is www.virtualbank.com It works just like ING. You get $20 bonus for opening the account and $20 for each referral (ING is only $10!) You get 30 referrals so it's a possible $600 for referrals. They pay the same interest rate on their money market as ING - 2.6%. It is a minimum $100 to open the account. Transfer the $100 from ING to your checking and then to Virtual for an easy $20. Keep the account open for 90 days or you'll be assessed a small fee. Must be 18 to have an account.
If you'd like a referral after you've done your due diligence, please PM me (but only if you'll definitely open an account as the referrals are limited and do not "revert" back to me if you choose not to open).
Thanks! |

Interesting.
I quite like the concept of no service charges, and increased interest. I don't mind not having to physically enter a bank. |

Hmmm,...really sounds nice
But is there a way to convert that money back in to an e-currency like PayPal or e-gold? Or at least check? that would be brilliant... |

| You request that the money get transferred to your checking account. Takes about 2 days for the transfer to happen. Then you can just go to an ATM and get your money. If you're interested in an ING or Virtual Bank account - both getting 2.6% interest and offering generous bonuses for opening an account - send me a PM. You don't get the bonus if you're not referred by an existing account holder. |

| AND, I just referred my husband so he got the $20 bonus for opening an account and I got $20 for referring him. So, we've received $60 bonuses for initial deposits of $200 total. Not a bad return on investment! |

I'm not sure about Canada. I'm sure their website www.virtualbank.com would tell you.
I found out about virtual bank at www.bankrate.com so you can go there and do some research on online banks as well. |

I'm against referrals on principle (I refuse to pimp myself for my banks). But internet banks, in genereal, are great.
If you don't want to sign up a ton of your friends, you can get higher returns through emigrant direct or get sign-up bonuses for many accounts, such as Citi. Neither of these involve referrals. |
