Well, I was kinda torn on this one... Between what they will probably do and what they should do. I am sure Bernanke doesn't want to do anything rash but, he needs to bad enough that he just might. So, I voted for the .5% rate hike. Shocked

I don't post on the boards anymore but I just wanted to add my reply for "posterity" Very Happy Besides that, my choice wasn't one of the voting options. I said da mawkets will make it so that da Fed will not have to do a thing at all (tumbling stock and commodity prices mean no measures necessary) so I'll stick witme previous take of no more rate hikes needed. I don't think it will be raised. The fed's will want to make sure they look like they are in control of the economy.

Should have started to increase the rate long time ago, instead of when they did. Now that the average american wage earner is strapped for money and has their second mortage raising the interest rate further will cause price increases to slow down the economy even further and this could lead to a situation simular to what happened in the early-mid 70's. Which wasn't a pleasant time for the average person in this country. Not a depression but one hell of a recession, they coined a new phrase for it "stagnation" Shocked Confused
