- If I want to purchase more shares in a company that is already in my portfolio, will I have two separate lines in my portfolio at two different purchasing prices?
- How does the percentage in the competition work exactly? If I sell a stock that has grown a lot during the month, does that maintain my increase in percentage for that month?

It will put them on different lines so keep that in mind when you go to sell them that you'll have to pay the commission on each. At this point it was too much of a programming hurtle to bunch them together and still track your portfolio % very easily.

The portfolio % is based on all the money you put in the market + buying commissions / all the money you've made from sold stocks - selling commission + all stocks value currently held.
If you've banked some earnings from a stock it'll still show towards your portfolio %.
I'm looking to make some changes so it'll actually show the formula in your portfolio. You should be able to see all the e$ you invested and all the e$ you've made from the market. It'll make the calculations more public and then you can tell much easier where your e$ are really going and whats giving you that dreaded % next to your posts. |
