you really should change the system.
with every new trade I made my portfolio return dropped Confused Confused
and it dropped quite dramatically

anyway you are not resetting the system next month then I will get rid of my money (most of it and I will donate it to the site admin so he can discard it or whatever the word is)coz this is drivin me crazy

Making additional trades will continue to make your return % drop unless it is greater than your current return % (in this case, you must make trades greater than 402.68%). Wink

Look for a reset of all portfolio's for the end of this month as well as some new restrictions.

We're planning for a fair and competitive August!

If ya let it run until the first Fri in Aug I will donate 1/2 my total EI bucks to ya at that time! now there's an offer you can't refuse Shocked give us a little color about what is about to happen before you go right into it if you don't mind Mr EIA Very Happy maybe some of the players have some ideas you may want to include in "the new EI", or is everything set and ready to go?

Nothing is set in stone for sure, but so far the plan is:

-Reset all players % to 0
-Sell everything in your portfolio (make all your holdings liquid)
-Any stocks with a . in them will be invalid
-Minimum $2 stock purchase price.

An idea is to have your portfolio reset every month for a new competition. But, we can also try to keep the numbers so you can still see how you've done over the long term.

OK, hopefully everyone that wants to play will come up with some thoughts, did you decide about how our orders get filled so there is no rampant taking advantage of AH news that moves your stock by 30% before the market opens? Very Happy BTW, I don't think the system is currently correctly tracking the results for the July competition, in fact, I know it isn't Very Happy

Wel the system wasn't reset for July so all the numbers people have had are still there.

The portfolio is still calculating as always though.

I dunno, I'm just following my own port and I've been stuck at the same 5.63% gain for at least the past 5 days now, I don't think I could keep my total return static at the exact same 5.63% gain for 5 minutes let alone 5 days Very Happy something is wrong with the system calculating total returns, that's pretty obvious at this point.

So there are no plans to fix the method of calculation so that it reflects actual portfolio value return percentage?
