I am like that but for some reason I kept one card that had a low limit on it, just in case is what I always told myself, well like I said in my post earlier it came in real handy waiting for visa to get my money back when my DEBIT card got frauded. And I just happened to notice it on veterans day so I had to wait till the next monday to fill out the paper work. Talk about a pain in the arse |

No credit card, just a debit after getting in a bit over my head like 10 years ago, THEN losing my job and having to take one that paid much less.
Also - no debt except home and 1 of 5 cars... |

Credit cards are somewhat safer against fraudulant use because I think there is a dollar limit for liability and you have time to dispute it, whereas, if someone has your debit number, they may clean out your cash before you know it. So I use my debit card for companies I know, but am very cautious about using it on the internet.
Only 1 of my CC numbers has been fraudulantly used. Fortunately the CC company caught it when someone ordered flowers by 800# under the wrong name (M Parker). Those charges were reversed, and they put a stop on the card blocking attempted internet purchase from a FL travel agency. The only unrecognized charge was $205 at a drug store in Berwin, IL. In the dispute letter I requested the purchase date, what was purchased, and who signed for it, because I was out of state when it was posted. Never heard any more about it.
Not sure how they got the number, the card was still in my wallet (replaced now) and I use a PO Box for billing. |
