I use self-checkin at the airport. I refuse to use self-checkout at the grocery store. If they want me to do their work, then they have to make it worth my while. Give me a discount or something. Otherwise I'm standing in the line and reading the headlines on the gossip rags like everyone else while waiting my turn in line.  |

| Sometimes self checkout is easier for me if I only have a few items. Otherwise it is a pain in the butt. |

| Well my theory is that if I'm doing the work, I should get paid. And I don't mean paid as in a paycheck, of course, but they should provide something as an incentive. |

| Well I'm lucky enough to live right next to a supermarket (but 19 floors up and away from the traffic), so in general I only buy what I want/need, rather than "stock up" on what I may need. So like, $20-40 a week? |

| It really varies for my wife and I, before we started going to the local wholesale place, maybe anywhere from $50-$100, but that included a lot of household goods too, now maybe $30 -$70. Everyone once and a while we'll spend like $200/week now though and get like a year's supply of toilet paper and various spices we use. Sometimes I think we spend more since we became members of the wholesale store for stuff we won't ever really finish. It's hard to tell yet since we have several years worth of cooking spices whether or not we'll actually use it all. |

| It depends where you buy your groceries. The most expensive groceries are not always the best. My grandmother traveles pretty far to get her over priced groceries but people do what they want to. |

With the amount of money I have spent in groceries, I feel that they should have someone push, load and unload my cart for me and have free drinks for me while I spend my money. $250+ per week when my three kids were at home. Now my wife and I spend around $125 per week. When ever you use self check out you are saving the company money that they aren't passing on to the consumer. Also probably out sourcing the job overseas.   |
