U.S stocks dropped on the concern that the economy would be weakened as banks and brokerage face deeper losses and record energy costs depressed consumer spending. Many financial companies have lost as their estimates were wrong and the Federal Reserve signaled that it would stop cutting interest rates. Oil was record high at $135 a barrel and home sales were recor low and as such consumer stocks dropped. S&P 500 was down; all the 10 industries have declined bringing the U.S benchmark to the lowest level. Visit source for more updates

The market is going to do what ever the greed factor dictates. It has minimum to do with how a company is doing...just publicity to it. Twisted Evil

How you going to make them less available?

Fractional lending, fiat money etc....

The housing bubble made all this money worth 1/2 of what it was and that is why we are getting slamed with higher prices for oil, food etc...accross the board price increases due to fiat.

Eliminate the fed eh? Rolling Eyes There are men and wemen that would put their life on the line to defend it and they haven't the slightest idea of how it ever came into existatnce....

with oil prices starting to drop as of last week, is it safe to say that we can see a moderate drop over the next few months or was it just a freak situation? and now that the theorists are looking at all the "other" reasons as to why oil /clmbed, does that show the sign for a drop of ils prices in the long term

Jacobski, it twasn't da housing bubble dat made da muny werth less....da housing bubble getted invented in da foist place so dat da muny cud be inflated. Massive inflayshun is da ONLY salution ta massive debt. Wink Noooow, we will see da MASSIVE debt elimunated becuz da debt has been passed onto da playas on wall St. Da playas on Wall St are sposed ta be the ultimate "free mawket" society. Therefore, when you play and you lose BIG then Arrow There is no cryin. Crying or Very sad Jist like theya be nooooo cryin in basebull. Rolling Eyes Da Fed is nuthin mo than an arm ov da govmint....jist like da U.S. treasury er da I.R.S. Since Oct 2007 da Fed has "obviously" sided wit da playas on wall St and da govmint be covrin it up by sayin "We's watchin youz guys" Very Happy Noooow, luckily fer ALL ov us it STILL trooly IS a free mawket aaaaall on its own and sssspecially witout da govmint. Becuz ov this we can rest assured dat "true" mawket conditions will eventually take over. I see nuthin wrong wit dat. I am just saying it is wrong fer da govmint to place a massive tax on the citizens o'da United States in order to save the United States banking system....dat's all. Very Happy

Then what is making the money worth less?

There is pretty much only one thing that i know of that devalues da dollar and dats inflAshion.

The fack dat da housing bubble came and now we have prices running like O.J. wit a murder weapon speaks for itself...

I already toldja what causeded da inflayshun. Da govmint tru da Fedrul resoive is on a misshun ta save da muny runner banks at ALL costs....including da livelihood of its own citizuns. As a result, the hedge funds and dem dat be afilleeyated wit da moneyrunners are being given free reign on da mawkets......and right cheeeya right now da inflaysun sensutive seckters are where dey bees concentratun. I also toldja dat USO (whcih measure Earl) has a gar-own-teed date mit $62 (minimum) at sumtime in da future. The rest is fluff! Wink These thaaangs ALL git werked out by Mr mawket eventually....jist like da R.E. bubble I called da top in. Cool

thanks for the responses....

I'm indeed happy. I think that OIL will subside back and will help many countries. Indonesia has already dropped out from OPEC and I think this decision will affect the production countries. anyways.. check it out more news on oil at http://www.gnutrade.com/market_talk/index.html
