Hi, this is my first post. I've been playing here since oct 2006.
This simulator works great, but i've problem with one thing... Stock Splits !
I've had 2 stocks which applied a stock split. The first, Spartan Tech. (SPAR) with a 2:1 split (2-3 months ago), and recently (today) Life Partners Holdings (LPHI) with a 4:3 split.
Due to lower prices as consequence of stock splits, the simulator calculate is as a loss, when it must be treat as an increment in the number of stocks.
Is this a kwon bug ?, will the simulator solve this problem in a short/medium time frame ?. Is the unique solution sell the stocks a day before the split happen ?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english, but i'm from Peru and a i've not the opportunity to practice it very often  . |

We get our quotes feed from Yahoo, but it includes quotes only. To date we have not found a feed that sends stock split information, so splits are processed manually. Rather than keep up with every single stock, we ask that you PM either JRW or myself when a stock split occurs and we will update your holdings.
If at all possible, please do so before selling, as it makes the process much easier. If time is pressing you can sell the stock and we will rework the sale amount so that you get the proper credit. It's just a lot more steps. |
