Take a good look at your monthly expenses and see if you can save with any competitor's services.

Like cable TV, cell phone, home phone service, etc. All these bills have a way of creeping up slowly over time. Check out competitors and switch or combine to get better service/lower bill. For example, by getting a better cell plan with unlimited long distance you can lower your 'wired' phone bill a lot. Also, maybe combining your internet w/cable TV can save. Don't just take for granted that these 'fixed' expenses in your budget are really all that fixed. You maybe able to negotiate or change to a much lower cost.

This is so true. We have started looking at everything. We were paying $5.99 per month for long distance. We never make a long distance call. If we do, we can use a cell phone with free long distance. It doesn't seem like a lot of money, but everything adds up.

At one time we did this too. Our biggest surprise was that we could get satellite tv for less than we had been paying for cable. For less momney per month!
