Thanks to everyone who entered. Whoever picked the number closest to what the DOW finishes at the end of 2006 wins the prize package. Once again here are the prizes:

I went and bought one o'dem "stock pickin" dawgs. I thunk it seemed like a purty good concept so I made a trip to da dawg pound and walked about the place. I chose the one I did because as I walked past ole Boo da dawg he blurted out...."short FNSR"  I'm gonna try Boo da stock pickin dawg out fer a few weeks and if he doan werk out I might just turn him over to T.M. Vetelmo.

Hi folks,
... looks like we missed the deadline on this one,
but just for the record:
Dow 31 Dec 2006 = 11,181 ... ???
Reasoning:
10 May 2006 = Hi = 11709
10 May 2006 + 180 days = 07 Nov 2006
07 or 15 Nov 2006 = Lo = 10655 ???
10655 + 50% of range above = 11,181 ???

I find it ironic that the market has rallied this much, because when I was doing the original models for the Dow at the end of the year, I threw out the one which said 12,150 because I thought that seemed to be way too high.  |

DJIA 12,445.52 +28.76
I picked 12,000 thinking it would be the highest the market would possibly be at the end of the year... |
