Just saw this on Yahoo's site
| finance.yahoo.com wrote: | | Starting September, we will no longer be offering real-time ECN data due to pricing changes by the exchanges. For real-time quotes (including real-time pre/post market data), sign up for a free trial of Real-time Quotes. |
Looks like they want to make some money from it. |

| Google gives real time quotes. Just type in the ticker symbol in the search bar and they give you the delay and real time ECN. Maybe they plan on putting a stop to it too though, I don't know. I used to use a really nice XML service and wrote a desktop app to show the ticker across my computer at work, but it got shut down too. |

If you have a broker and you don't have free real-time quotes then get another broker. If you don't have a broker (and therefor don't trade stocks) then what do you need real-time quotes for? |

| I saw that Yahoo was going to stop offering that and I was pretty bummed initially, but then I realized it didn't really matter because its not like I'm going to look on the real-time quote thing there and say, "Wow, XYZ is at whatever, better buy it". It was nice to have, especially if I wanted to check something quickly in the first 15 minutes of trading, but like Dave says... |
