For those that picked up CVX in the mid $50s, today's sell-off was rather mild. I'm definitely not crying nor am I panicking out of my position.
I'm also dubious regarding your prediction of this being the last quarter for beating expectations. Long term, I only see oil going up as production continues to fail to keep up with demand. |

I tend to agree witcha in here on CVX. No real damaaage done yet. Kind of a battle betwixt buyers n sellers if ya look at da way da chawt closed. Although the rally into earnuns was a false rally because it came off a sell signal (bearish)...the selloff today came off another sell signal (bullish). So it did the wrong thang on Tues by rallying into earnuns....but it did da wrong thing today by selling off after last night's sell signal into the close (there were 2 consecutive sell signals cause CVX remained in da buy mode). The only other evidence is the fact that the OBV ended up the day close to zero which means that fokes was obliviously....I mean obviously buying the initial selloff. I hope for your sake and anyone else who bought the ramp into earnuns that those buyers will be proven correct! Looks like chances are better than good that da gap will be filled. Good luck to ya! |

Hi ya Grim,
..... some thoughts from Down Under, about the
price of oil (POO) .....
Looking ahead, we are shooting for substantial
downmoves in POO, in August & September 2006?
25 August - 01 September 2006 ... POO down???
22-28 September 2006 ..... POO down???
happy days

I hates ta wait till Sept....if'n ya doan mind of course. Here be my basic theory. Gasoline demand is directly responsible for the level of POO. One would assume "logically" that there will be a higher demand for gasoline in the summer months....that's why I'm wreckin you are thinking POO piles up till Sep. The more gas we consume....the higher POO we generate. Eventually we all get fed up with the POO and just cutdown on gas....which isn't logical cause one would think that dat higher POO ya gots...da less gas ya wants n gots. And we all know dat ainna true unless yer chit doan stank. Confused? Me too! so I'm wreckin I'll just wait and see what the stocks say cause like I said bafo....the stocks will lead...then the commodity will follow. My advice to everyone is to just shop your local neighborhoods and find the gasoline station that is most "liberal" in how they tie their gas prices to POO...and then shop somewhere else. Have a safe and happy summer down yonder...I'm mean Down Under. Actually, I think yuns guys are gettin set to go snow sking there....cep't ya gots no snow mountains. That sux. |
Where does China/India fit into your diesel/gasoline/oil equations? You do know that China alone was going to order every single diesel engine Cummins Engine Company could produce for the next few years, without having any left for the rest of the world, so Cummins had to place a "limit" on how much they sell to China. Basically, engines can't be made fast enough for the world at the moment. Economies growing like this is one of the prime factors for ALL comodity growth. |

Well, it's pretty clear where China stands but I'm not too clear on India. I think India is happy enough that Mujabahr can now do customer service fer DELL computer when a short 12 months ago he was pushin a plow wit no shoes on his feet. China is obviously a bigger concern...."Ooooh yes Dubya son....we keep currency rate low so you will have $80 sneakers to sell to unsuspecting American consumah. China cooley laborer werk cheap Dubya son! China govna take $30 and pay cooley labrah $5...fo 1 week work. We buy all American steel and commodity to keep price up so price of finished product stay high fo unsuspecting American consumah. Oooooh no Dubya son....China govmint promise not to try and buy BIG American oil concern....you no worry. We be on your side...we no want nuculer weapon like North Korea. You say when...we will make the adjust on Chinese yuan. You trust us good Dubya son....you go now....you bring us diesel engine when you come back." |

Well, just about every major energy pig reported earnings now and to be honest witcha's....I thunk da earnings reported were like WOW! HOLY CHITMON! KAZOWEE! I wonder why crap like VLO n XOM got less juice out of such great earnings reports than a typical Cramer "Mad Monkey pump" gets out of his flock of idiots? Hmmmm, intrusting...to say da least. Maybe earnings really don't matter like that one idiot who always posts a bunch of nonsense at this site always keeps sayin. Anyhoo, just wanted to state my opinion about da energy pig stock prices and how they reacted to earnuns. And keep in mind....even if da great earnuns were already priced in, Cramer, da Fast Muny flunkies, 99 outta 100 anal-ysts CNBC parades on screen, Stat n Dubya B (2 of our very own here at eI) are gonna come in and tell us when to....."buy da pullback" |

Reaper's history of oil n gas according to George w. Bush:
Dubya takes office, crude at $10
Enron scandal, companies like WMB, RRI, AES a hair away from BK and
HAL trading below $10
The dreaded day, 9/11, WTC towers 1&2 collapse in what looks like a planned demolition, WTC tower 7 which also houses gov't offices definitely collapses in a planned implosion....just watch the video.Reminder: No planes hit tower 7
Dubya begins his war on terror but soon gets sidetracked into Iraq....not enough oil to contol in Afghanistan I guess, Dubya begins stocking the strategic petroleum reserve into rising prices
Dubya instructs da Fed to lower interest rates and flood the economy with muny to help prevent the U.S. from going into recession...or worse.
Dubya begins a strategic plan to keep the cost of finished products low by exporting manufacturing jobs to countries which pay much less for labor, like China and India.
Mission accomplished in Iraq! Let's get this thing really rockin with nuthin but good news stories...please.
China and India begin to see the benefits of Dubya's plan....economies begin to grow rapidly increasing the demand for energy and commodities in general...no signs of inflation yet in the U.S. because of course energy and commodities don't matter as far as da govmint is concerned.
HAL gets most of the lucrative contracts to rebuild Iraq and gets a blank check for the first 12 months since no accounting standards are needed. HAL is only there to rebuild Iraq, not the oil infrastructure, in the year 2006 the Bushies wanna make sure that Iraq will be supplying less oil to the world mawkets than when Sodamn Insane was in power.
Hurrican katrina strikes the gulf energy producing region. Spot gasoline on the futures markets spikes to 3.35 on the day New Orleans floods. 1 week later spot is back down below 2.20...but the price at da pump is still at 3.25.
Our leaders in Congress react! Giant tax incentives are offered to the energy suppliers! Thanks guys! XOM n VLO realize that they may wanna back off a bit....price at da pump begins to finally work off the $1.00+ premium over the spot price and by Dec gas at da pump is at 2.25 again. Dubya finally stops adding to the strategic petroleum reserve at the peak of energy prices.
T-bone Pickens da rich Texas oilman stawts woikin his majik cause as everybody knows....it ainna ova till T-bone say so. You had better get in before it's too late! AES n WMB which almost went down with Enron are now gaining support by the anal-ysts on Wall St as they trade near 52 week highs. Ken Lay of Enron fame....a giant Bush supporter and friend has a heart attack all of a sudden. Sho hate to be on dat side o'da trade.
So here we are....crde coming off the $78 high with a veeeeery important election coming up in Nov. You make da call!
I also have some crazy theories about the war in Lebanon too....that all starts with a "high level" meeting between the Isreali prime minister and da Bushies which was held on May 6. We'll leave dat'n alone fo now. |

Yet another one from the "people are idiots so let's mess with em" category. Looks like COP, XOM, CVX, and BP all have a sizable stake in that pipeline that had to be shut down. I guess the way these mega oilpig scam companies look at it is that there really is no need to spend any of their HUGE profit $$$ maintaining that pipeline unless they are gonna get more tax credits from da Bushies! That's why they let maintenance on the pipeline go by da wayside. Also, I noticed that CVX n XOM didn't get hit by the news. I guess that's cause CVX still has a gap to fill and fokes know XOM ainna gonna pay fer no problems originating outta Alaska! BP got hit the hardest just because their series of commercials about how they are spending $$$ to find solutions turned out to be an outright lie obviously. |

CNBC has some clown spokesman on from BP to explain why they were negligent about the Prudhoe pipeline. Becky Quick axed him if there is potential for similar damage over other sections of the pipeline (1500 miles) that BP manages and the clown avoids the question. So Becky Quick axes him the question again and the clown stawts fumblin n bumblin like a criminal caught red handed! Like me said bafo....greed NEVER goes unpunished. We saw what happened to the homebuilders and their shareholders....more news outta TOL this moanin that it ainna ova yet. BP gappin down and the clueless idiots still keeping the OBV way up there like this POS is coming back or sumthin. I'm warning you right cheeya right now. If you are long the energy pigs you will be punished severely! Ya thunk they would have learned by what happened in da gulf last summer. Now if da Powers that be could just drum up a Category 5 and wipe out da Hamptons it would take care of a bunch o'da crooks on Wall st. |
