I think some financial advisors feel anything less than 10 years is "short term".

I love the idea of the real estate market. However- depending on the market- it is a risk. (That's for the under 10 eyar thing)- as far as 6 to 12 months- I'd like to know too.

5 to 7 years i would say setup a revolving cd accoutns so that you have one mature every year... This works well after the 5 year mark as every year you have money coming available.
