I've been reading posts about some of the better "reward" and "cashback" CREDIT cards. But my husband and I use our debit card almost exclusively.... unfortunately, we get no rewards whatsoever with it. I would really rather avoid an actual "credit' card, but it seems stupid to not be getting any rewards. Are there any banks/companies out there with reward/airmile/cashback/whatever debit/Visa check cards?

I know this wont help- but I am interested to learn as well about the debit cards. I have heard they have a lower percentage reward than the credit cards- but it would be great to find out the ins and outs

hmmm... now this has me thinking! I write checks for everything. But, if I could earn a reward, I would switch to a debit card! Anyone? Anyone?

I used to be a paper only, check writing type person. Recently switched to online bill payment and this sounds interesting, please post if you find out more about a rewards debit card.

This has already been posted on another board, but I use the Citi Diamond Rewards card. It gives you 5% cash back on groceries, drug stores and gasoline and 1% on everything else. Plus, they give you a $100 gift card for signing up. I've been very happy with it. (The cash back you use to order things via earned points)

Why stick with debit cards? They are a horrible way of buying things. Credit cards have much better fraud protection & allow you chargebacks & will help your credit history. Debit cards also aren't accepted by businesses like many car rental agencies.

Charter One bank has a Megareward debit card, make sure you read the terms and conditions and fulfill them if you decide to go with it to avoid fee. I agree with the preferrence for a credit card especially a cash back credit card since as long as you paid off the entire balance each billing period, the fund that you debited is earning 3% interest at some banks in addition to the CC companies paying you to spend their money. I don't ever use cash, check, or debit card for anything that can be charged using CC.

PayPal has the 1.5% debit card. However, you also need to have a business or premier account. This means that if anyone ever pays you through PayPal, it will cost you 2.9% + .30 cents for the transaction (unless you have a lot of volume going through the account). I do not particularly recommend this card, but if you are looking for a rewards debit card, this one works.

I have a paypal debit card that I love. I guess I didn't read the fine print though. How much would I pay in fees if I didn't have a business account?
