Now because of the beauty of math Wink I'm still not breaking even. A 50% drop requires a 100% gain to break even, so I'm not there yet. But it sure helps with the numbers for the monthly contest. Very Happy

Yes Dave, you're right up there at the top, but have you noticed we have a run away in first place? 'Fraid ya' still got a bit o' catchin' to do there good buddy! Smile But hey, who am I to comment, the one in LAST place. Hah! At least my place is secured... I've already hit bottom and we're only on the 3rd of the month! Usually I wait until the 4th or 5th at least to take my dive! Smile

Good job Dave... give 'em h_ll!

That's okay, if this person comes back and posts a few more times this month they have first place locked up by 5% more than vetelmo, the current first place position. Very Happy The others on the top portfolio return list all have zero posts, so I'm guessing they aren't likely to post much.

To get to the alternate "include everybody" list click on the Rankings link on the top of the page, but change the sort method from "active" to "portfolio return". You'll get a list of everyone on the site, whether they have the 10 posts for the month to qualify for the active list or not. Cool

... and this person is sitting on a nearly 50% return (in only 3 days Shocked) but has zero posts. Should we tell them to start posting? Wink I'm not sure anyone can compete with that. They're double the next closest person on the list right now.

I think the policy should be that nobody gets notified regardless of what place they are in. After the month is over, however, why not drop them a line and tell them that they could have won? Twisted Evil

Really, checking the site from time to time should be a minimum requirement... if you can't make a couple posts on your own you really don't deserve to take the prize from one of the active members.

Now this is fun! Laughing I'm sporting a very attractive -100% return for the month now. Who is responsible for this stuff? Wink

Actually I think what probably happened is that the hourly update process missed a connection to the Yahoo quote server, or something, and it shows my portfolio value as zero. It should probably correct the next time around, which should be in just a few minutes.

My stock (yes, I'm back to just one again) should actually show up as doing fairly well. I've gained back nearly everything lost last month.

Since I am locked out of my port I was wondering if I could just have everything in my open file deleted by the powers that be...that way at least I'll be able to compete fo da mumphly prize, just delete my entire open positions, I'm not that concerned about losing the 27K or whatever is in there, thanks! Very Happy

Grim, I have updated the code on our test site that will prevent issues like this from locking you out. I will try to get that portion of the code moved over tonight, and you should be able to get in to your portfolio tomorrow.
