| Stock splits have to be manually adjusted. What was the split ratio? |

Little know but interesting fact- Dave wrote this site, and (I believe) is still the trouble shooter. His stock picks are questionable (just kidding Dave ) but his technical abilities are outstanding. You're in good hands

Stock picks this month are far from questionable, they're downright scary bad.
If Ben doesn't get to it today, I'll fix your portfolio when I get home this evening. If you need to go ahead and sell, that's fine, I can make the adjustment. But it will get fixed before the monthly contest is over. |

| Dang, stock splits really hurt. I guess all you can do watch the news and look for indications that a stock might split . |

Stock splits do nothing, nada, zilch, nary a thing to your return. It's just that they are not processed automatically by this site. |

| Forgive my ignorance as i am new to the entire world of stock investing and finance, but what exactly is a split? Does it have anything to do with mergers or other corporate actions? |

Stock splits are when shares in a company are broken down further, normally in order to reduce the cost of shares.
Example: Company XYZ's stock steadily increases to $150/share. The company may decide that stock price is very high, so it authorizes a split. Each existing share is divided into two shares worth $75 each, or possibly 3 shares worth $50 each. Stock splits have no effect on your portfolio return. |
