Ouch, have you check it recently?

At one point it was up over 12%, now only up 2%.

It seems to mirror how the actives are doing in the competition this month.

We should thank whoever picked PALM, GLW, and DA.

GLW has been very impressive up over 20%.

Was hoping someone might suggest that for the Charity Portfolio.

I guess the fear is if it's up that much it must be overpriced, but that always isn't the case.

It's always tough to suggest picking a current winner (like GLW) because the opposing viewpoint is that it's gone up as far as it's going to go. The question you have to ask is whether the fundamental reason for picking the stock has changed. Smile

GLW was a high-flyer prior to the Naz crash because they make the raw material used to lay fiber optic lines. All the big telcos and ISP's were going nuts putting fiber into the ground. Even Enron was going it. When the glut of fiber became apparent and all the telcos dropped (Global Crossing anyone? Qwest?) then Corning dropped too.

Their recent surge has to do with the fact that they make the glass used for the glass panels in flat-panel televisions. That's a market that is only going to boom in the coming years, IMO.

And yes, GLW was my suggestion for the contest. Very Happy

And if you guys would have let me in with RACK I would be stomping you.

You can give thanks for me being in the hospitol and not being allowed to change my stock from FNSR to RACK.

Consider yourselves lucky.

P.S. Im still a little pissed off about that one. Evil or Very Mad Guess you have to be part of the special clique.

CBI had a lot to do with that. It went from being up over 20% to being down over 10% in the matter of 2 days. Apparently accounting scandals are a bad thing.
