Just getting back from a recent 4 day cruise I am very suprised at the value. We booked through Travelocity which was 200.00 cheaper than the cruise line website. With food and some beverages being included in the price and the entertainment it was truly a value. It feels like several vacations in one and it was nice not having to worry about where to eat and how much it was going to cost.

cruisequick gave us some great rates. If you look for last minute you can save a ton of money. Cruise rates change often so if you book and then see it go down call your travel agent and they will adjust the fare or give you onboard credit.

www.cruisecritic.com has a lot of very helpful information. There are a lot of reviews and ratings. The message boards are a wealth of information. Look for a guy Chris that posts a lot, cruising for life or life is cruising is his tag. He has a website with some great info. He is very knowledgeable.

We did the four day bahama cruise with Royal Caribbean. I can't tell you what a great time we had, their private island is just amazing. Travelocity had the best offers when we booked plus you can get all your options in one place.

We did two 5 day cruises on Carnival. One was awesome and one was okay. I LOVED the 5 day Imagination to Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman. We had a tour in Jamaica through Ionie McBeam. Fantastic! Service, food, everything was just so above and beyond our expectations. We went in march and really got a great deal.
The second cruise we went in June because we went with another couple and that was the only time they could go. We went on the Sensation. The ship was not as nice. It was pretty dirty and the staff was very so what. We had several problems and they were very annoyed to have to help. We had a $895 "tip" added to a 4.95 drink. I had a major fight to fix it and ended up having it credited after the cruise. We went to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We did a sting ray tour with nativeway and it was unbelieveable. One of the best experiences I've had. In Cozumel we did the Fiesta Party Boat. Waste of money. They took us to a private beach where they forced us to walk through a shopping area and we were just pounced on.
I would go on a cruise again in a heartbeat! However I would really research the ships. cruisecritic has a great message board with very useful and honest information.
My parents did a Princess cruise to Southern Carb and loved it.
I would do carnival again without question but not the Senstation. I'd do a larger boat next time too.
I liked the 5 day format. |
