Ben says that's the way the e$ / cash process works. If you don't earn e$ in the forum, then they don't get displayed. If they don't get displayed, then apparently they don't get into the net worth either. I can look at that part...

The aapl rally is really helping me in real life but the stock that is helping me here is IIJI. It has been done for the last month. Also I want to thank everyone who helped fix the % return. It is very nice now.

Confused Confused yeah.

Elaborate please...

In the "non investing" area the e$ are not displayed, per Ben, that is the way the code works. That means the net worth is off by whatever your cash position is there. But if there is something else wrong that I am not aware of, please do explain.

My net worth is being displayed as just over 100,000 e$, and my portfolio value is being shown as only 50,000 e$. I think that is "whats wrong".

I think all the real e$ monies are fine, it's just these displays in the forums are off, and I believe you said you were getting to them this weekend. I like it alot and don't see any working problems of course today all my positions left me with nothing to do, they performed nicely so, maybe I'll know more tomorrow. Cool

One of her stocks did not get a "month end" price set properly, and so it was treated as if it ended the month last month at zero. That means that whatever the quote is today the entire amount is treated as gains.

Fixing now. There were 5 stocks altogether that did not get month end prices set properly.

Have you looked at the new screen? At the moment that's the only thing that will update your return numbers...

So let me get these two things straight:

1. Nelaina isn't really in first, because something didn't count correctly?
2. We update our portfolio return by going into the new calculation section?

And I'd just like to say that you guys are doing a great job getting all this new stuff put together, your efforts are appreciated.

I don't know where she is, but she doesn't have (yet) a 30%+ return for the month. Over last weekend I ran a script that requested month end close values for every stock for every open position for every member of the board. For some reason, five rows (five specific stocks) did not get updated. She had at least one of them. The clue was when I looked at the calculations, the GTM was equal to the total value of the holding, meaning the entire holding was showing as profit for this month. The only way that could happen is if the month end price did not get set, and was treated as zero. When I checked the database, that was what happened. The five stocks have been priced. I have a few weeks to make the month-end update script more robust, add error checking, and make sure this doesn't happen next month.

For now, yes, you can. There is no background process running, but I realized today that while you're looking at the return it only takes one extra query to update your records, so I did that. So each time you view your "return calculation" page you are also updating your standings.
