In order to improve our Search engine optimization I've changed the top links that were part of the image to text links. Google LOVES text links that say what the page is about.

Let me know if you have any feedback, it's always welcome. Smile

Oy.
I posted about this in the other thread, I got nice and comfy with the big header tabs to click on... I guess I need to actually pay attention to what I'm clicking on now.
I'm fine with it if it pays off though.

With changes like this it's mostly annoying because you get used to how it was. In a couple days you'll hardly remember. Smile

Are the text and links on the site too small in general?

We wouldn't want you to click an ad by mistake, but only if you are seriously interested in what it has to offer. Wink

To an extent? Yes. Cool

I need to keep the shareholders happy.

But this is your investing forum, if there any problems or ideas to help the look and feel please let me know.

Also the header is a bit smaller (50 pixles less in width) and slightly more optimized for file size.

I actually like this format more then the one that was here before. I am sure that it is going to come up better on my laptop too. Before I could not read the links because of my screen.

I would like to see the links on the top (to things like the forum and your portfolio) to be a bit bigger, such because I use them so much its nice to have a bigger target.
And some of the ads are intriguing to say the least, I do my share of investigating.

Oh, and I was getting quite freaked out by the site... it was crashing. But then I guess you fixed it. Nice work.

The site has a language file that has all the text for the navigation of the site.

I downloaded it, modified it, uploaded it and it became corrupt. Shocked

I'm done messing around with it tonight though. Razz

For the stocks at the bottom of the header I used the ones that were the most popular picks for the sim portfolios of the members.

I thought you were just sucking up to the search engines, putting both Google and Yahoo on there. Wink

I want to see RIMM, screw Lucent!

To be honest, I wouldn't mind bigger links.

Still about a 1/2 inch too wide. Smile

I have a large monitor, and I run a high resolution. But I don't have my browser window maximized. This site is one of the few that I visit that doesn't fit in my normal size window. I realize this is a personal choice, but hey, you're asking for feedback, so I'm giving it. Smile

I set the header to 750 pixels and everything I could find in the overall header and footer to 750 too. It's 800 somewhere still though. I'll check the CSS, but after that it's going to get messy. Confused

I like the new look. Does it really make a big difference with the search engines?
