Please post here the next stock you'd like to see everyone research and give opinions on in the "Discuss Stocks" forum. The title will be "Lets research a stock - XXX". If you want to talk about another stock feel free to post there, but we'll also have this official thread.

We won't do a poll or anything here but if we get seconds and thirds on a stock we'll go with that one.

We can keep using this thread for more ideas as we move ahead.

If you mention a stock and it's picked for research you'll get 2,000 e$!

I'd like to see a stock torn apart to see it's inner workings, but I won't say it so someone else can recommend it and get the e$...it begins with a G though. Wink

I would love to dissect the company. Already have in fact, it would just be a manner of explaining why something trading at a P/E of 100 isn't where you should be putting your investing dollars.

Lets do Google next, I'm getting excited already!
(Not to mention, Google is a little more interesting than Valueclick)

Yes, Google is a good idea. heh

We should keep the sectors open though so energy would be good too as Frusnak mentioned.

As we pick them lets try to spread it out.

But Google would be fun. Cool

Does this mean I do not have to pick a stock for Thursday? I had one that I was thinking about doing. It is a microcap that I just can not seem to get right.

I personally would rather see one per week, to be honest. It might be more sustainable that way. I feel that if we try to do one every other day, or something like that, people will not be able to really read and discuss the stocks.

I think one a week is good. Announce the stock on Monday, allow the rest of the week to research and disect it, then on Friday the call is made whether to buy the stock for the einvesting "virtual portfolio" or not. A buy vote should also come with a sell point. In other words, we buy stock XYA at $20, and decide our sell point is $30. The goal will then be to watch the stock and see how it performs over time. The time might be one month (if the sell target is reached) or one year. If we do one a week we'll have 52 stocks we're tracking by the end of the year. If we do one every other day (weekdays only) then we still have 130 stocks to track.

Just my opinion. Cool

I agree with that. That was the original intention i think, we went from one per day to one on monday and one on thursday which makes more sense if you really want to dig into a company. I think its important to have a few days to watch the stock and see what it does, what news comes out, what changes happen because anyting can happen and that leaves it open for more discussion. I think the interest and focus would be lost if we did one stock per day.

Im going to go against the majority here and mention that i really don't care to dissect google. Its already been done a thousand times and the information and opinions on it are all over the place.

but thats just my opinion
