I sit on the opposite side for the Poverty Line of Investing Award (which I never got last month, hmhm). My picks are beginning to payoff though, as RIMM is headed back north. Hoping that continues, it would sort of validate that patience pays off (here I take patience to mean a full two weeks).
Burlington Resources (BR) got a buyout offer today, up 8%. Naturally, I managed to sell out my position in it last week.

Conoco made the offer and their shares have fallen. Cramer did recommend conoco (COP) last week for a gas pipe line play from the artic. I would guess this to be a long term (Mr. Buffet not two weeks Very Happy ) investment!

That depends on how they did during the holiday season - their expected earnings would be built into share prices by now - if they do better then expected then those stocks should go up.

This seems like a common question, and I don't believe I've seen a real definitive answer or any stats to back it up.

I guess the broader question is Does seasonal investing work? Retail before Christmas, Coffee before winter, Suntan oil before summer. Wink
