Yet another post has inspired yet another idea.

I could probably pretty easily integrate a store where you could buy virtual stuff with your e$ (More easily in the short term than adding limit orders Wink ). Do you think this would be fun?

We could put up there stuff like this:
Apartment => House => Mansion
Yugo => Pickup => Porche => Mclaren => Rolls Royce
Husband/Wife => Kids => Dog
Entertainent Systems
Warren Buffetts/Jim Cramers Friendship

I dunno, pretty much anything. That way when you earn e$ or make them off the markets you can buy and upgrade your stuff.

Would this be cool or make it too much like a kids game?

Let me know what you think.

I think it's a great idea. It would seperate you from other sites. Seems like it would make it fun. The more money you get in the real market the more "things" you can buy so why not here. Good thinking, keep us updated. Do you think a poll would be good to find out if others are interested?

Good idea for the poll!

The Simulator separates us from pretty much any investing forum...but I'm not afraid to make us even more different!

If so, count me in.

This idea could really boost the popularity of the site. Just imagine if you allowed same sex unions or have the kids cost money to keep (like monthly charges) and if u have a partner your income can increase a bit. That way if we see a single parent guy with like 10 kids and a mansion, we know he is good at the game.

Omg, I'm so into this idea now.

It could be fun but this is sounding more expensive all the time. For now let me see if I can get a simple store with stuff in it going.

It would be cool if there were income/expenses for your items, but I would probably have to do it manually for a while.

I am sort of offended that you put Jim Cramer in the same league as Warren Buffett. Even if you value Cramer's friendship at, say, e$10,000 that still means Buffett's friendship should only be 7 figures, easy.
Should the idea go forward (I oppose it) I think buying kids should just vaporize your money, investments, everything.

Now THAT is realistic!

Maybe we'll leave people out of this (Buying kids, wife, ect). But if you have a mansion, the best car and the island nation...a Female eInvesting member may propose to you. Laughing

Wow, I think I can pull this off with stuff thats readily available. What do you guys think I should put for prices (Most expensive, least expensive)?

Keep in mind we don't want everyone to have tons of little stuff or things may look cluttered.

Isn't this going to take us away from the idea of helping each other learn about trading in the stock market?

How in the world would it take away from learning the market? If anything it might make teenagers more interested in the simulator. And I don't think you have to participate if you choice not to. Just a feature that can make it more fun and exciting for "most". Very Happy

Hopefully giving members something else to do with their e$ besides putting them in the Market will encourage more posting and interaction and not detract from it.

We'll see how it goes and if it changes the feel of the whole site too much and takes away from the investing aspects we can do away with it.

Should have a shop open by tomorrow.
