Investing online vs Old School investing

Has anyone been around long enough to have been investing before the internet? Has investing online given tons more options to investors or just made it easier to lose money? Did you call a broker to put a trade in before?

Just kind of curious as to how it used to be before investing online.

I unfortunately never was in this game before the internet hit the scene, but considering the continued succuss of Warren Buffet, I'd say it doesn't really matter for some people. I on the other hand probably wouldn't be doing this whole thing if the internet weren't around. It would be much less stimulating for me.

I think DKnightSr is probably our most senior investor, perhaps he was trading stocks before there was investing online.
