I think some games are better suited for a console environment... or were anyways. When it comes down to these new consoles they're really just computers completely designed for gaming. You happen to use a TV for the screen instead of a computer monitor.

A lot more computer games allow for gamepad controls now, which limits my interest in consoles further. A computer is much more versatile.

Games I previously thought should exclusively be played on console were primarily sports games. First person shooter style games seems to be better with mouse control.

From what I have read, the cost per XBOX is about $550.

They're really trying to swamp the market before Sony can swoop in with their system and their large library of games and game developers. Do you think MSFT can get enough games out to keep people's interest?

Microsoft is reportedly getting hosed selling the things, they lose about $150 per system, but their plan is to recoup that from games. I imagine getting the upperhand on Sony also has a large part to do with it.

Not sure, but probably a pretty decent percentage if that's what they're banking on...
