There are a lot of cluttery features for Google desktop, but if you try to clean things up a bit, it can be used nicely as a stock list compiler. The one feature that makes this possible is the scratch pad. It simply is like a notepad file that saves automatically whenever you change it. So you don't have to go back and save, and it's always open on the sidebar.
You can keep several different lists and keep better tabs on your stocks.
I've been doing this for about 3 weeks and it has helped tremendously. |

Clearstation.com also has a feature where you can store a watchlist of stocks that you have lower targets for, I think that is a helpful tool where you can go to one place and see a list of stocks, instead of getting an e-mail because a target was hit on a single stock, it's a good idea to start tracking support/resistance areas using even a simple notepad like you mentioned, the one thing to remember is that if it is on the internet I wouldn't be too quick to divulge too much information. |

Grim,
I use the watch feature on Clearstation. If you want a site that gives you support and resistance try StockTA.com. It also has a lot of other helpful investing info.
Thanks,

| Any chance you can make that image bigger? I can't really see what Google Desktop is like. |

| I'm a little weary of using Google desktop. I don't know if you heard, but they had a little security issue that arose last week and I'll bet there will be more security flaws discovered. |

| Several times a day I visit my ClearStation watch list and may delete or add symbols of stocks based on whether they're doing what I expected. It's very helpful to use this for upcoming buys of stocks that break above resistance, for example. I find the support/resistance feature on the free StockTA.com site quite adequate for my purposes of setting stops. The data on both these sites is delayed, but I'm not a day trader. For instant info I go to my online broker, e*Trade. |
