Can you find a stock that will move quickly next week? Here's your chance to prove it! Low priced stocks usually make the quickest gains, so let's give the sub 2.00 stocks a chance to shine. Here's how it works:

At the close of regular hours trading each week the competition for next week's challenge will begin. If you wish to play, simply come to this board and post the symbol of the stock you wish to play for the following week with your starting price. At the close of regular hours trading on the last day of trading for the upcoming week the player who has the biggest % gain from their starting point wins! The second and third place finishers will also recieve extra rewards to use for the regular competition here.

Awards:
Winner $2000 Ebucks
2nd Place $1000 Ebucks
3rd Place $500 Ebucks

Rules:
To determine if the stock you wish to play conforms to the following rules you should go to a site that publishes closing stock prices (including daily trade volumes), like CBSMarketwatch.com

HOW TO ESTABLISH YOUR ENTRY PRICE

Simply state the ticker symbol and the price at which you wish to enter. The price can be the closing price on the last trading day (usually Fri) before the competition begins, or it can be a price above or below the closing price for that day. To gain entry the stock will have to be trading no lower than .50 and no higher than 2.00 at the close of trading on the last day of trading before the following week's competition.

Examples of pricing entry rule:

Stock ABC closes trading for the week at .50, but news in after hours trading takes it to .30, you feel it is an over reaction and you wish to play the stock. Simply enter Stock ABC at .30 or .35 or .25, or even .55 for the following week's game.

Or:

Stock XYZ closes at 2.00, but news after hours drives it to 2.25. If you believe there is more upside you can enter stock XYZ at 2.25 or 2.30, or 2.05, or even 1.50 for the following week.

QUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY PRICE

In order for your pick to become an official entry for that week's competition, the stock MUST hit your entry price sometime after regular hours trading begins the following week (usually trading starts on Mon) Very Happy

Examples of why your pick may not qualify:

If stock ABC in the above example only trades to a low of .31 during the week, and you entered ABC at .30 you will not qualify. If stock XYZ as mentioned above only trades to 2.10 and you entered 2.05 as your price, you will not qualify. Your entry price MUST be hit at sometime during the trading week to gain entry for that week's competition. Sorry! But this will help eliminate some who may try and game the after hours trading markets, so choose your entry price wisely!

OTHER RULES

Your entry must trade at least 70000 shares on a single day during regular hours trading. This 70000 share trading day can occur even prior to the day when your pending entry price gets hit. But unless your stock trades at least 70000 shares on a single day during the week your pick will not qualify. Sorry! You can not enter an OTCBB stock that closed at .50 and then moved to .75 during the week and traded a total of 15000 shares for the entire week! Laughing

You must have your entry in no later than 7 AM EST on the day the competion begins for that week, usually Mon.

You can not make an entry any earlier than 4:05 EST on the last day of trading before the next week's competition begins, usually Fri.

You can carry a pick over for the following week if you still think it is a good play and meets the other qualifications. If you plan on doing so you must notify the rest of the players by stating your intention to do so no later than 12 PM EST on the Sat before the following week's game begins. This will allow others to use that pick if they'd like.

Once you have made your entry you can change your mind about the stock or the entry price only once. Your second choice will be your pick. If you decide that it is a bad choice even after you have made the change you can simply withdraw from the competition.

Example of the change of pick rule:

You pick stock A at 1.75 and later decide you like stock A at 1.77 instead so you change it, that will be your pick. You will not be allowed to make another price change or pick a different stock.

You pick Stock B at .55 but later decide you like Stock C at 1.00, stock C will be your final choice. You will not be able to make any more changes to the price or choose stock B again.

Any stock that trades on the NYSE, Amex, Nasdaq, or OTC exchanges qualifies for the competition as long as they meet the above rules.

That's it! Them's da rules! If anyone has any suggestions about changes or anything to add to make it better take the following week to think about it and discuss it right here at this board. We will begin the first run next week if we can get 5 players to join in. If we cannot get enough interest to get 5 players aboard then I guess it just ainna worth the effort, so we shall see what happens from here. Good luck to all who enter! Very Happy

The price range is too tight for most of us. To me anyway. Maybe you could change it to $0.5-$20?

Sorry Bfox, I wanted to start a game for those of us who like the fast movers, there are plenty enough choices priced within the .50-2.00 range, technicians will find lots of gooduns since the price of a stock means little to a technician, and there isn't a funnymental anal-yst out there who can tell you if a stock is going to rally 30%+ within a week based on da funnymental prospects, they might be able to tell you that DPH is gonna fall based on the weekend news though Laughing looks like the idea is going over like a lead baloon anyway.

Really Bfox?!! I try and play only stocks that are priced 2.00 and below in general, although one of my 2 remaining longs of consequence is now trading above 2.00, playing the sub 2.00 stocks is about the only way to double your money on the first rally, that's why I like em, I've found that TA for a sub .10 stock is no different than TA for a $100 stock, TA on the stock indicies is a bit different than on individual stocks though.

I noticed that one when I tried to play QQQQ Laughing .
Where do you get your "cheap" stocks form then? Do you have a program or a newsletter or you are just doin' it all by yourself? If you are doin' it yourself then let me know how you do it Very Happy . I don't have the guts to start buying cheap stocks onmy own coz I have like $500 left Embarassed (I had $600) I would test all kind of strategies if I only had the money.

With a small amount of $$$ to invest I would almost recommend you buy DPH at .40-.45! you know you aren't gonna find a pick like that unless you do it yerself! Laughing let's see what happens if you buy DPH, 500 shares at .42 limit, just fo fun Shocked I'll make it the only play that will ever happen at the new weekly stock traders board in all likelihood Laughing

I don't think it's going to fall to as low as 2. Here's the chart:

It has a strong support @ 2.25 and a resistance @ 2.8
The uptrend is still rather strong and the volume has been continiously increasing during the last few days. If it gains tomorrow it will up quite heavily the next few days. It may retest the support of 2.25 tomorrow but it definetly should be up on thursday.
