There are a lot of posts. However, they are not specifically marked. I have been to a forum before. The administrator will periodically delete messages that contain no real contents and mark those that are really good.

Good point. Maybe there are too many forums and posts to know where to comment. We could trim it down a bit.

Thanks for your remarks!

I voted for the simulators calculations but there's another thing that annoyes me. That's users who come here, make posts like
Quote:
Buy low and sell high!
in the investing tips forum (this particular one was by goldenplate) just to get 10 posts to advertise something.
I think it would be great if you'd raise the limit of posts needed to advertise to at least 25 (50 would be even better). Another way is to give prizes in the competition only to active members (there should be a minimum of 5 or 10 posts a month to be an active member).
Hope this helped,
superinvestor

My only complaint... it takes too long to process a buy/sell order. I can't wait a day to have a sell take effect before I have enough cash available to make a buy order. I'll forget about the whole thing!

Otherwise... this is great!

It doesn't take a day, it takes 20 minutes.
I'd be great if you guys changed it to 15 minutes 'cause finance.yahoo.com shows quotes with a 15 minute delay.

I think next month we'll go back to the active poster contest.

If you don't have at least 10 posts in the month you won't qualify for the prize. Maybe that'll get more people posting. Wink

I thought more people would want to talk a little smack or have a little fun with it, but it's looking like not. Crying or Very sad

Why did you change the forum. Mad Why should Investing for Beginners be in the same category as Investing in Real Estate? Did you do it to make it easier to navigate?

It's true. It's all my fault. There were so many catagories with stuff spread out all over that it made it difficult for new posters to know where to start.

It's just a bit more streamlined.

Give it a few days and if it still seems bad I'll add more separation again. Embarassed

Wow this is a good thread thanks for the laughs.

I'd say there are not enough people posting that's right.

Plus, while the $50 is not awe inspiring I think we'er all aiming for it.

$100 sure could be nice. Heck make it $500 or $1,000 and I think your forum shall be sizzling!

Reap, I must say I was pissed to find you have the Heavy equipment avitar. Anyone know where I can get a CAT avitar with one of those heavy duty dirt haulers with tires big enough to steam roll over the reap!

I love the comment diggin the dirt so you don't have to! Excellent.

The reaps in a brawling mood. I'll fight you for the avitar use. lol

Hey admin man, could you throw me a G note.

I hope we all help you get this site humming because I love it already and I'm happy to be on board early for once.

You could add a "shout at the reaper forum" like the shout out threads in some of the muscle boards. Then have a leader board for the shouts posting the top 5 or 10 shoutmasters. have it reset each month and then have an overall leader board. This prompts people to want to have their name in light so to speak on the front page. Kind of like how the investment leaders are listed top 5 on the front page.

Since the reaper has such gumption and energy and seems to know what he's talking about on some stuff, you should give him a thread. Heck he's got the nuts to name himself the reeper and scare some chumly's away that's funny!

Sounds like we have some creative people here. We figure out how to make serious money at the stock market and you'll be turning people away eventually.

I ask that we all be Grandfathered in if we are members October 2005 or earlier.

I found you via google search fyi because I was lookign for a stock market sim game. The $50 drew me in. You were my second selcetion. I clicked on the IL teachers game fiorst SMG or something. My frined teaches in Chicago on the North side.

If you want to throw me an extra $500 or $1,000 e$ for all this information that sounds cool.

How do we get the $50 when I win. lol

Seriously, you mail checks or what? If you could up Novemeber to $500 you'd have tons of traffic. Just a thought.
