Golly, I turn around to handle some other biz and when I come back here I find I've been liquidated, got no portfolio at all, wasted all that time? I'm dazed, stunned, not sure which way is up. Oh, it's a lot like real life. -Zer

Hey Zer, did you have only one stock long at the time? and was it a stock that changed trading symbols?

Nothing of the sort. All my stuff is still trading just fine -- except at this site -- and all of my stuff is LONG (mine to sell). I don't do biz any other way. What I had was MSO, CEI, CMO, NTRZ and was thinking to add BIDU. But now I'm wondering what's going on here. Stuff disappears? Strange. -Zer

We needed to purge the system for the new rules to level the playing field. Sorry for any confusion. So far this has really been a beta test for this trading software. It's really one of a kind to be integrated with a discussion forum and was pretty much developed from stratch in the past few months.

As to the future we hope never to have to have a full-blow reset again, but to continually track your picks for the longterm, and also track your monthly progress pit against the other members for the competition.

I know you've made some great leaps since you've been here Zer and were really close to the top honors last month (and I believe you are our senior member Wink). Hopefully you don't mind starting again. We have a VERY tight race so far this month and it wouldn't be possible with things how they were before.

Thanks for sticking with us. Smile

Please read this topic for full details. The summary version: we reset everyone to zero (and you got your eInvesting$ back for the holdings at their market close price from last month) and made some changes in what sort of trades were allowed.

More changes are in the works.

Mr.TS, there is a flaw in the current system which could result in some seriously skewed numbers if it isn't updated with the other changes coming, when you open trading on a 30 minute delay like you are doing now, we actually miss the first 10 minutes of trading being that you are on a 20 minute delay during regular hours, alot of big moves on news are made during the first 10 minutes of trading, I have a stock in my port right now that was actually up 5% on the open yesterday, and then settled out down 3% below Thurs close 10 minutes into trading, so when the trade simulator gave me an opportunity to adjust I was offered a price closer to the low because of the 10 minute opening bell flaw in the system, I never did get a chance to take my 10% profit off my buy point on the open, it's no big deal since this is just a game, but it is something you might be able to improve upon to make the game more realistic, now if you were my broker I'd be pee a zissed! Very Happy

Fixed. Thanks for pointing that out. In the future, please use the "bugs" topic linked in my signature to be sure that I find the comment. The original trading hours were for testing... I forgot to go back and add in the extra opening 30 minutes. You should be good to go on Monday. Cool
